Shotley Women's Institute

Shotley W.I. is a thriving organisation with about 40 members.

No 'Jam and Jerusalem' for these women; over the years, a variety of speakers have introduced members to subjects from constructing pottery pigs and making Christmas decorations, advice on beauty treatments, to information on how to avoid being conned by rogue traders.

A full day outing is arranged for midsummer, when visits to places of interest are organised. Past destinations include Goathland where 'Heartbeat' was filmed and the Lavender Fields in Yorkshire. The August meeting is reserved for an evening outing, when visits to local places of interest are arranged.
